Guess what time of mission it is??‏

Sooo.......   did you guess right? Three days from now is a very important day. It is indeed my YEAR MARK out on the mission! Can you believe it! I've been gone for a whole year! My first day in the MTC seems like a lifetime ago, but at the same time I can remember it so clearly, like it was just yesterday. Who would have thought it could go so fast? And I'm sure the next 6 months will fly by like two minutes.

This past week was actually pretty slow compared to the past two weeks... Which was a bit of a bummer. It was the first week of the new transfer, but only one person changed in our district. Elder Min became AP, and Elder Laney came in. And My last companion Sister Choi Yein went home last week! :( I'm going to miss her so much. I hope someday you will get to meet her!

Oh my goodness I have to tell you about members that we visited the past week. They are this couple with two young kids, and the wife served a mission in Seoul. She said that she baptized someone every single month of her mission! That is amazing! It's not that way anymore... I sure wish we could get it back up to that point again. And her husband, holy cow, he served in the Guam mission! And he was actually the FIRST missionary from Korea to serve foreign, and at the time he served there, Guam was the third hardest mission. He didn't speak a lick of English, but decided to still go. On his mission he learned English so he could talk with his mission president, the language of the main island of Guam, then the language of another island he got transferred to, and THEN Mandarin Chinese to teach Chinese investigators. His story was so amazing to listen to; I was mind-blown the entire time. So cool!

So one miracle that happened was that we got to meet with a less active that we were unable to meet with for the past month, and helped her see that she DOES need to make church a priority. Now it's just a matter of her acting on that knowledge...

And actually we have had quite a few other miracles where we meet people that we can teach, but all of them were referrals to other missionaries. It's kind of frustrating to see all these cool things happen but not even get to see the results. But I guess it doesn't matter, as long as those people are able to learn the gospel. :) I'll give one story that happened as we were doing a district activity. We were doing a survey, where we ask them what they think about us missionaries (like what age we are, how much money we make, etc.) and then tell them what we do. And it's SO easy to give Book of Mormons out like crazy. The Elders gave a Book of Mormon to one young lady, and she went into the cafe right there and immediately opened it up and started reading it! We were all trying to see through the window the whole time, but it caught us by surprise when she came out and immediately walked up to one of us and asked, how do we get salvation? Her question was actually sincere too! ahhh so amazing. She may turn into a golden investigator. :D

We are hopefully going to meet with the Philippina today, so pray for her! I'll end here, and hope the next week is full of more miracles!

Love you all! -- Sister Segovia

Interesting Fact: Maybe this is in the US but I've certainly never seen it before... But they have grape yogurt. Like even with chunks of grape in it. Weird, but good.

"God shall wipe away all tears" - Revelation 7:17
So I've been studying Revelation for the past couple weeks, and it is SO fun. There definitely is a lot of stuff that I don't understand, but when I do understand, it's so exciting! So many times I will have a thought about what something could mean, and then as I continue to study, I find that I was right! It's really cool to be able to see how Heavenly Father is guiding my thoughts as I study His word, even the confusing stuff like John's vision. :)

Forgive me if theres typos

So right now I've got to go fast and I'm on an itouch in a cafe so my typing is not the best right now.... Sorry!

Man this week was even better then the last! And last week was pretty great right? but Heavenly Father decided to bless us even more. I've no clue what we did to deserve it, but apparently its happening all over the mission. We have all really decided to push forward hard! So first, we finally were able to have a member lesson with an investigator that has NOT wanted to meet any members. When the lesson first started, it was really terrible because our investigator only spoke in English even though the member didn't speak English... But our amazing member just kept trying, and finally was able to find something that connected with the investigator. By the end, you'll never believe it, but they were CRYING together. So amazing. I really have no clue how it happened. and also, an investigator that we hadn't seen in a month called us to have lunch out of nowhere, and she had even read in the book of Mormon like we asked her!

As for the other random miracles, its seriously been like nothing I have ever seen before during my entire mission. Same for my companion. Our key indicators, how we record what we do throughout the week, have never been higher. So, we met quite a few people on the street. The first is the one I am most excited about. We were walking and say hello to this mom and her son, but after we pass her, my companion and I look at each other and decide we need to go back and talk to her. Turns out, she is Phillipina, and really wants to go to church with her family! So we hope to be meeting with her next week. Then, we were having a really not good day as far as getting ourselves to talk to people, but finally we just decide to talk to this lady as we are heading home, and she asks us to have coffee with her, so we explain that we would love to as long as we can have a smoothie. Haha and turns out she was really interested too, and we were able to give her a book of Mormon. Also, yesterday we were just sitting doing some planning before an appointment, and a man approaches us, and we explain what we are doing and he seems really interested in our church as well! This may seem like normal miracles for other people, but for me and for this mission, its astounding. Seriously, stuff like this only happens in south America or some other place haha.

The interesting thing we noticed was that most of our big miracles happened after we decided to change how we had been doing things and go back and talk to that person. Crazy how that happens right? We have to give up our pride and serve!

That's all for this week. Know that I love you all!

"earnestly contend for the faith" -Jude1:3
You can think of this two ways, changing the meanings of faith. First, we must contend for our own faith to be strengthened and grow as much as possible. Then, once we have obtained our own faith, we must contend for the faith or our church. Both are important! I'm glad we can be here fighting for that cause.

Helloooooo!!!‏

It was so awesome to talk with you mom and dad!!! And I'm glad that I got to see your faces, you both look great! So young :)

I still have lots to say, since I didn't tell you about this past week yet! SO much happened. I already told you about yesterday and how everything seemed like it would be a flop of a day but then as we decided to keep going forward and try to see some miracles, the miracle came! We got to meet with that lady, and she told us to come back whenever we want. So we are going to try and start the lesons with her this next week!

As far as the rest of the week, it was kind of the same way. The week started out terrible, with only one lesson scheduled, and everything falling through that we used to be able to count on. So we decided to go through our area book and update it. And hat is a project that will last quite a while, because we have to visit a ton of addresses, just to see if the people still live there.

So, we went to one former investigators home, and she was still there and said that we could come back this next week! Another day, as we were walking along the street we saw two people on the street that we needed to talk to, and were able to make two appointments for later that day. AND remember the Australian man I told you about? He called with us one more time before he went home, so we got to meet with him again! He had so many questions about our church and just Christian religion in general, and we were able to answer all of them confidently with answers that surprised him. He told us that he was surprised that even with how young we are we were so wise and were able to answer all of his questions with a satisfying answer, which no other church had been able to do before. He said he would continue to learn about our church when he goes home! After the lesson, I just had this feeling, full confidence that he WILL accept this gospel. I don't know when or how, but I think he will. :)

Another random day, we were once again just walking and this man stops us and tells us about his life, which seemed like a WRECK. Usually if a man talks to us on the street we feel wary, but when he was talking I just felt like we should listen to him, because even though he was drunk and kind of crazy, I could tell his soul was really hurting. So we got his number and maybe the Elders will be able to meet him again. AND that same day we came to the church for English class and there were SIXTEEN random new kids there, who had just all come to the church because one friend that the Elders invited got them to come. It was crazy and we had no clue what to do, but it was a miracle that we were able to introduce the church to so many kids.

As you can see, this week started out empty, but it became packed with miracles from the Lord! Amazing.

I love you all so much!!

Interesting Fact:
They have corndogs, which are way better because they are layered twice with the bread stuff, and guess what they dip it in? Nope, not ketchup. Sugar! That's right, sounds so incredible delicious right? Haha maybe not, but it really is good. It just makes you feel twice as unhealthy when you eat it.

"If we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us." - 1 John 5:14
God will always hear our prayers. But we can't forget that He's not just a God like the genie in the lamp. He won't, in fact He can't, give us anything we ask for. But as we learn more about Him, our will becomes more inline with His. Our prayers change until we won't ask anything that's against His will!

So many miracles!‏

Wow, what a week to tell you about!

So first of all, yesterday I got to go to a baptism! It was a baptism in my old area of the little boy that I told you about before but his baptism originally was cancelled to who knew when. But he was able to get baptized yesterday, and his father was the one who baptized him! So my and my companions got to go to it :) And one of my companions, Sister Ellingson, actually was trained in that area so she was able to see all of those people again too! It was so fun for her. But, here's the funny part. The baptism started at 4, but we actually didn't get there until five, right as they were singing the closing song :[. The traffic was so terrible once we got into Busan that it took an hour for what should have been just fifteen minutes. Seriously such a bummer. But luckily its part of Korean tradition to always have meals after events, so we got to be there for the dinner :)

One bit of information that may be pretty important for you to know......... We lost one companion yesterday. Sister Johnson, the sister that came to Korea the same time with me, is no longer in our companionship! :( :( Another Sister got sick and has to go home, so Sister Johnson got pulled out and went to that area. So sad! Our house is so quiet without her. Seriously, threesome companionships are the best! Both me and Sister Ellingson don't know what we'll do without her.

Also, a miracle that I wanted to tell you about this week was that a couple days ago we were sitting in a cafe getting ready to start weekly planning (usually we do it at home, but we decided to do it there because we had somewhere else to go) and this guy from Australia starts talking to us. He asked us is we were really all sisters (haha) and we were able to explain about our church. He had heard about us before, and though he said he was agnostic, he wouldn't say something isn't true until he tries it. So we invited him to church and our English class. On Saturday morning, we sent him an email asking if we could give him the English Book of Mormon we had got him, and then he called us even before he got the email and said that he had been doing some research on the church (p.s. please come to the missionaries before you go to Google!) and asked some questions about the Word of Wisdom. We were also able to see him later that day and gave him the Book of Mormon and got his contact information so the missionaries in Australia can contact him when he goes back! He was such a fun guy, and I really hope that he continues to learn about us!

A lot of other super great stuff happened this week. There's just one other thing I want to tell you about though. It's my ward. The members are so amazing!!! One couple has THREE sons on missions right now, and just sent the youngest off the America for a couple months. So faithful. I love it here!!!!

interesting fact: In Korea they are super strict about recycling. You must recycle, and when you recycle you must separate everything into soft and hard plastic, paper, etc. Also, they have food trash. And you are so bad if you don't do food trash. haha it's kind of like compost that we do at home mom, but trucks come and pick it up. Anyway, we haven't had a food trash bucket at all, so we've just bee stuffing our food trash into the freezer till we can figure out what to do with it, Finally, I decided to ask a member, and when she heard we had been doing that,,, haha the look on her face was priceless! She immediately took us to get a food trash bucket :P Love it here!

"I will not be negligent." - 2 Peter 1:12
I just remember mom telling me not to be negligent all the time when I was young. But it was certainly good advice that I should have followed. Negligence doesn't get anything done, and leaves a lot of miracles unseen.
